This set replaces it, along with the three valve points around it, in solid hardwood.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe set has four pieces: the flow control paddle, the steam valve knob, the hot water valve knob and the brew lever knob. That fourth piece is the difference between this set and the one for the Mara X, in the making and in the price.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach piece has flats, so there is something to grip against when a valve is stiff. The wood is Styrian hardwood from a local sawmill, and I hand-pick every board. Each piece is shaped on its own and sanded through the grits by hand until the surface is silk-smooth, then finished with a food-safe oil made in Austria.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause these are cut in small batches from natural wood, the grain on your set will not match the photographs exactly. The shape and the finish are consistent; the figure is not.
