Each piece is shaped on its own and sanded through the grits by hand until the surface is silk-smooth, then finished with a food-safe oil made in Austria. The oil brings out the grain, and for the first few weeks it leaves a faint, warm smell in the kitchen.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause these are cut in small batches from natural wood, the grain on your set will not match the photographs exactly. The shape and the finish are consistent; the figure is not.
